Redo Surgery for Type A Aortic Dissection (truncated to 5 min)

This patient had received replacement of ascending aorta at another hospital. However, the intimal tear was in distal aortic arch. Years after the surgery, the aneurysm became very large. We did the redo operation to replace the total aortic arch. We used a vascular ring connector and a fresh elephant trunk to replace the arch. This video will show you how do we avoid injury to the arch aneurysm during sternotomy and the techniques of replacement of the arch. The patient received only 500 CC of blood transfusion and was extubated 12 hours after the surgery.
